September 24: Crypto meets SEC, What’s the agenda?

The US Congress has scheduled a meeting with Jay Clayton, chairman of SEC along with 4 SEC commissioners and representatives of Facebook's Libra to discuss the future of the project across the world along with other topics related to cryptocurrency.

Facebook’s Libra representatives recently held a meeting with officials from the SEC and other officials of central banks to discuss the future of the digital currency across the globe. In recent news, the SEC chairman, Jay Clayton along with 4 other commissioners are set to appear before the House of Representatives Committee on Financial Services.

The hearing is scheduled for 24th September, and this hearing is dubbed as “Oversight of the Securities and Exchange Commission: Wall Street’s Cop on the Beat” by Committee on Financial Services. There are several things which will be discussed during the meeting, and these are cryptocurrencies, stocks, bonds, and digital and traditional investment contracts. Exchange-traded funds(ETFs) will also be a topic for discussion during the hearing.


Libra coin to Libra Security Token

The social media giant, Facebook will take center stage. There are chances that Libra can be introduced as a security token during the discussions since it will be made available to investors to fund startup costs.
